
Call for Dietetic Case Studies
Do you have an interesting gastro-related patient case-study that you’d like to share?
As part of our efforts to provide fresh and informative educational content to inspire practice, the Dr Schär Institute is looking for dietitians, nutritionists, and other registered healthcare professionals who work in the field of gluten-related disorders who would be willing to submit short patient case studies (5-750 words) to feature on the Dr Schär Institute website.
We can offer an honorarium of £100 for completed case studies, to be paid in the form of high street/ online shopping vouchers of your choice. We’re happy to accept submissions from registered healthcare professionals working at all grades and would also be pleased to receive case studies from student dietitians and nutritionists working on clinical placement. Case studies can cover any condition where a gluten-free diet or gluten-free foods have been used to any extent in the dietetic management of the patient, for example; coeliac disease, non-coeliac gluten sensitivity, gluten ataxia, wheat allergy, low FODMAP diet for IBS/ other gastro conditions.
Case studies that have resulted in changes to your own practice are particularly helpful to share - if you learnt from an experience, maybe others will too! Sharing case studies also supports reflective practice, contributing to ongoing professional development.
How can I get involved?
If you have an interesting case study that you’d like to share, please email institute@drschaer.com and provide a brief description of the case, stating why you think it would be useful to share on the DSI website. Please don’t send completed case studies until approval has been granted. An example case study format, along with full terms and conditions will be provided.
