As you've no doubt already noticed, we have given our knowledge platform a facelift and a brand new name, the Dr. Schär Institute. Likewise our specialist journal 'Celiac Forum' has also been revamped and renamed the 'Dr. Schär Institute Forum'. These changes are designed to reflect the fact that, as well as celiac disease, we are also committed to addressing the issues surrounding gluten sensitivity, in other words the broader collection conditions associated with an adverse reaction to gluten. Gluten sensitivity could be the cause of many of the complaints reported by patients, not least stomach pain, migraines, fatigue, diarrhoea, pins and needles, and numbness in limbs. This important topic now has its own area on our website and is the focus of the first issue of our 'Dr. Schär Institute Forum' journal. This issue contains the latest information about the differences between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity, a step-by-step diagnostic assessment developed by international experts in the field and two case studies which explore the topic in more detail. We are convinced that this comprehensive information will prove invaluable in your day-to-day work and enable you to offer your patients treatment options that are based on well-founded expert research.
Our first Dr. Schär Institute Forum of 2012 is a very special issue, quite unlike any other. You could call it an anniversary issue, since it gives you the chance to look back over Dr. Schär's 30-year history. We will show you all the main highlights, present our international scientific committee and introduce you to our Professional team who will be happy to hear your questions and suggestions.
